Glen Arthur “Bear” Reed, 66, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away on Wednesday (Dec. 28, 2011) at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service to celebrate Glen’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday (Dec. 30, 2011) at Maroa Cemetery. Pastor Shane Davis will be officiating services. Dawson & Wikoff West Wood Street Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the donor’s choice.
Bear was born on April 23, 1945 in Decatur, IL, the son of Leslie Vernelle and Ruth Mildred (Groves) Reed. Glen married Norma Leona Pritchett on February 6, 1991. Bear was Norma’s one true love in her life. Glen was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #65, retiring in 2003.
Surviving is his wife Norma Leona Reed of Mt. Zion, IL; children: Shelly Reed of Houston, TX, Lori (Gary) Hughes of Decatur, IL, Jason Martin and his fiancé Claudia Vargas of Alameda, CA and Benjamin Martin of Champaign, IL; granddaughters: Anna and Heather Hughes; nieces: Cheryl (Joe) McMahon of Conifer, CO and Kim (Steve) Smith of Weatherford, TX; special thanks and love to our extended family member Jaime Grijota for being you; beloved dogs: Shadow and Scotty.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Nancy Brackett.

We are going to miss Bear. I always liked him. The word 'sorry' doesn't even describe how I feel. We love you and send many hugs and lots of love.
